Today, after attracting nearly 10,000 high tech jobs, including Sun Microsystems and Level 3 Communications, Ball Aerospace, McDATA, Hunter Douglas Window Fashions, Geneva Pharmaceuticals Corporation to their city, the Broomfield city council voted unanimously to limit to 300 the number of new homes that may be built each year in their city limits.
   

 

The City and County of Broomfield is growing at a rapid pace. In between 2001 and 2002 the county jumped 7%
giving it the status of the 7th fastest growing county in the country, according to the U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

The $200 million Flatiron Crossing has recently opened and provides out-standing shopping with major tenants Lord & Taylor, Foleys, Nordstroms and Dillards.
